Have you had that kind of week? I know I have. Actually, I feel like I’ve had that kind of month.
- Deadlines looming
- Workload growing
- Stress showing
- Insecurities flowing
All too often this month I have allowed anxiety, stress, and fear into my heart gate. Not only have I allowed those three in, I have welcomed them with open arms and told them to pull up a chair and stay for a while.
For some odd reason, I tend to wait until I am overwhelmed to pause and re-group. God is constantly calling me:
- to trust,
- to rest ,
- to know
And when I get to the end of myself and surrender all into God’s capable, mighty, eternal hands; He does an amazing thing. He reminds me of who He is, and who I am in Him.
He brings me back to His word.
Through His word, and by His Spirit, God’s causes me to pause and reconsider all of my stress from His point of view.
- He reboots my soul,
- Cleanses my heart,
- Renews my mind.
Look at the 23rd Psalm and how it provides answers to every stress or issue you may be facing:
“The LORD is my shepherd; I have all that I need”.-No need to worry over finances when God is your provider.
“He lets me rest in green meadows; he leads me beside peaceful streams.”-God gives calm in the midst of chaos.
“He renews my strength. He guides me along right paths, bringing honor to his name”.-God will always guide you and give you the strength to follow wherever the path leads and in the process, He gets glorified.
“Even when I walk through the darkest valley, I will not be afraid, for you are close beside me. Your rod and your staff protect and comfort me”.-No matter what you are facing, God is facing it with you.
“You prepare a feast for me in the presence of my enemies. You honor me by anointing my head with oil. My cup overflows with blessings”.-God can take care of those who oppose you, and the blessings from obeying Him are more than you can hold.
“Surely your goodness and unfailing love will pursue me all the days of my life, and I will live in the house of the LORD forever.”-With God, your future is secure and bright.
(Psalm 23 NLT)

We just need to hit the pause button and open it, let it sink into our hearts, and put it into practice.
Try it next time you are having that kind of day.
