We all can relate to being sick and tired of something. In this story, Carolann shares her God journey from DIS-couraged (in many ways) to DIS-covering God’s next step for her. That journey has led her to us! Carolann is one of our new Working Women of Faith Leaders and will be launching a new Working Women of Faith Chapter with her co-leader in September.

Here’s Carolann’s Story:
My husband and I had to hold back laughter as we heard a little 3-yr old boy utter loudly in disgust “I sick-n-tida DIS!!” We don’t know what he was so sick and tired of but we still chuckle as we picture his chubby little hands on his hips, spouting his angry declaration.
His words took on new meaning recently as I pondered the last several years of my life. I had literally become sick…and tired…of “DIS!” I had experienced emotional wounds and upheaval from so many different situations.
I felt:
- “DIS” honored
- “DIS” graced
- “DIS”qualified
- “DIS”couraged!
I was carrying stress, burdens, fear, self doubt, bitterness, bewilderment and grief to name a few. I had been serving in a personal ministry/ business role for many years but I got to a place where I was so paralyzed, I could not move forward. My brain was in serious decline. I could hardly retain anything. I was terrified due to a family history full of Alzheimer’s.
My good friend Sarah invited me to a “Working Women of Faith” meeting. I was desperate for help so I said yes! It was just what I needed. I felt so welcomed. I ended up breaking down in tears at my first meeting, but amazingly it felt like a safe place to be real about my life and not feel judged. The teaching was excellent and I even got a resource during a testimony that turned out to be life changing for me.
God turned my “DIS” into “DIScovery”! And that led me to “DIScovering” God’s next step for me co-leading a Working Women of Faith Chapter.
My experience showed me that WWOF is about being a disciple and disciple maker for Jesus Christ. They believe in others and invest in them through this ministry. I’ve been on the receiving end of this passionate service and am being empowered to trust God, grow and take the steps I’ve needed to begin living a fruitful life for God’s kingdom again. I’ve watched other women find this same nurturing, life- giving environment that God provides through Working Women of Faith. That is why I am partnering with my dear friend Sarah to start a new chapter of WWOF in our area so we can multiply this ministry of helping other women flourish right where God has planted them, no matter what their “work” is!
