What if God told the truth?
What if everything God said was actually true?
And you believed it was true.
How would that change your life?
Think about before you answer.
Because He did tell the truth. In fact, God cannot lie. He only, always, tells the truth. Always.
So if that’s the case, it really comes down to whether or not you believe Him.
Do you want to?
Because believing God at His word is a scary thing. It requires faith. It requires reckless abandon. It requires you to trust Someone. And trusting is hard stuff. We are all fragile. We are all desperately insecure on some level. And our human experiences with trusting have often left us bruised, battered and bewildered.
Are you ready to try? Are you ready to trust a God that loves you unconditionally? A God that knows what you are going to say before you say it? A God who has always been and always will be? A God who hold the universe in His hand and yet cares about every detail of your life?
Because when times are tough
- at work
- at home
- in relationships
- with money

Yet in His word God says,
“I will never leave you, nor forsake you.” (Duet 31:6, 8: Joshua 1;5, Hebrews 13:5 NKJV)
When we are wondering what to do in a given situation, God says:
“If you need wisdom, ask our generous God, and he will give it to you. He will not rebuke you for asking.” (James 1:5 NLT)
When you are worn out and tired from over-committing yourself, God calls,
“Then Jesus said, “Come to me, all of you who are weary and carry heavy burdens, and I will give you rest.” (Matthew 11:28 NLT)
Either God is telling the truth, or I am just not believing Him. And since God always tells the truth, the problem must be with me.
It’s not that I don’t believe God is telling the truth. It’s not that I don’t believe Him. I just tend to think that He means that truth for someone else, not for me.
[Tweet “Do you struggle with this? Believing God’s truth is for you?”]
That’s okay, God knows you struggle with it:
O LORD, you have examined my heart
and know everything about me.
You know when I sit down or stand up.
You know my thoughts even when I’m far away.
So if the problem isn’t with God telling the truth, but with us believing Him, how do we solve it?
Keep reading His word. Read His truth, find His truth. Burn it into your heart. It will change you.
I firmly believe that the number one reason most believers have so little victory in their lives, and so many repeat problems, is that they just don’t read God’s word.
“BUT I DON”T HAVE TIME!”-you say.
Really? The creator of the universe; who holds all truth; and is truth; and has had men, through God, the Holy Spirit write them down and translate them into a language you can understand; the truth can guide your life and give you comfort and answers for everything that could ever happen to you. That is the truth that you don’t have time for?
Read it. Carve out 15 minutes and just start reading the truth. It will revolutionize your life.
15 minutes of truth.
Because the world is feeding you 18 hours a day of lies. And those lies are really easy to believe.
But God wants to give you abundant life. That abundant life includes His truth.
Are you ready?
Are you willing to believe that God is telling the truth?
Because He is.
